Description

The sonic nozzle, also known as a "Critical Flow Venturi" or "Critical Flow Nozzle" has rapidly gained acceptance as primary or transfer standard for proving gas flow meters and as high-accuracy gas flow meter. Once used only by the aerospace industry, sonic nozzles are now utilized in many diverse applications by the automotive, energy and metrology industries. Sonic nozzles can be used as a calibration standard for gas flow meters or any flow measurement device. By design, sonic nozzles are a constant volumetric flowmeter. However, with the use of a regulated pressure supply, the sonic nozzle becomes a "state-of-the-art" mass flowmeter.

Our sonic nozzle bank is desined with a one-touch connection concept for the ease of connection and disconnection of the nozzles. Up to 5 nozzles are installed to the bank system and are combined to adjust the flow rate by opening or closing the valves and there's a test port between valves, which is designed for the testing of valve leakage.

The nozzle shapes and the stagnation pressure and temperature measurement ports are designed to the ISO 9300 specification. The compact design was considered for portability.
